I hate to disagree with you, but I think her comments might do a lot of good. Here's how: 1. It got a lot of people thinking about their own feelings on the matter. You, for one. And you might agree with me that your argument may well be more focused and lucid the next time the issue comes up. I know that I have a clearer idea of what my opinions are. 2. Although it probably brought out a lot of anger in offended males, it also might have started them questioning their own behavior. Perhaps next time they act like assholes, they'll know it--and might even start to change. 3. It educated some men as to feelings that many women have (though perhaps not as strong or hostile), and it allowed some women to realize that other women were fed up as well. Every movement needs its complement of extremists and pioneers. These are its energy, and its ideas. As it doesn't seem that Trish is letting her feelings harm anyone (except for wounding male egos), I'd say that her attitude will stir up foment in a way that will ultimately be quite positive. -Ed Hall decvax!randvax!edhall
