Some comments from participants: "Flowers, definitely. A pink carnation." "Women are always on a diet, and they get mad at you if you give them candy." "I like to give candy because they always offer you some." "My roommate is diabetic." One woman told about how her husband brought her flowers every day when they were first going out. Another one mentioned that she has pressed the rose that her husband gave her the day after they were married (last month). And a candy-fancier has saved a rose given by a grateful user, and keeps it in her office. You really can't go wrong with flowers. They are aesthetically appealing, and are ideal for an impulsive statement of friendship, gratitude, or what have you. On the other hand, if you feel that a flower is just not your style, a plant (perhaps a fern) is probably safer than candy. Now, if only someone would do a survey about what men like for presents! -- [...]sdcsvax!sdccsu3!paloma
