When I go through a door first, I usually hold it open for whoever else is with
me.  I have to admit that I get a real kick out of doing this with men because
so many of them do not know how to react to a woman holding a door for them, and
it's really fun watching them go through very elaborate contorsions to grab the 
door I am firmly holding away from me.

(Hint for all the men out there who would not know what to do in such a
situation:  say "thank you" and go through the open door.)
