A native New Yorker, he was doing some business in Dallas during the Superbowl when the Cowboys were playing. He was flabbergasted by spending two hours talking about football before getting down to business. In New York, it is rude to waste people's time talking about trivial issues so you get right down to work. In Texas it is rude to only be interested in a person for business. You only do business with friends. So they take time getting to know each other before doing the business at hand. P.S. I agree about California drivers. When I go back home to Texas, I am pleased at the respect drivers give each other. If you're on a freeway and put on your signal to change lanes, the car in the lane will slow up and let you in. In California, the car will speed up and make sure you can't get in.
