This paraphrasing I'm doing comes from an article in this Sunday's Chicago Tribune written by Eric Zorn. He starts: "I often say that the main reason I'm glad I'm not a women is that if I were, I'd have to go out with men, the more clumsy, prurient, fatuous, insincere, vain, and confused of the genders." Leaving alone the fact that he sort of denies the existance of homosexuality, he continues in his article with various examples including citing statements in other sources. The most pertinent one was published by McGraw Hill titled "What Every Man Should Know About the New Women; A Survival Guide." He states that this book is: "A pungent explication of how, in love, MOST men are JERKS." Funny, but it sounded like deja vu to me. At least it should go to show that Trish's opinions are a little more prevalent than some people think and just maybe there are some facts out there to substantiate her thoughts to some unspecified degree. Wouldnt it be nice :-) if all of us were as lucky(or not as unlucky as the case may be) to have led a shielded life as some have claimed and not be aware of the harsh reality that exists out there for a few/some/many/most people? Awareness and recognizing its existance is the first step to solving this problem. This can be said for all problems. A problem is not solved by denying its real from personal experience and as a consequence questioning the competance of the source/spokesperson instead. An inquiry for facts must always be made. Where would progress be if every minority opinion/thought is immediately quenched by the masses? We'd all be cast out as heritics in short order. Robert.
