I think you are not addressing the issue, Chuq. Are you equating commitment to the relationship in general with commitment to a sexual relationship? I am not. Unless the sexual relationship is truly occasional, the question doesn't even make sense: after an abortion a woman is advised against inter- course for a period of a few weeks (risk of infection) and I would find that hard to explain in a partnership (a month-long headache? :-]). The kind of relationship I was describing (maybe not too well) is a close friendship that every now and then strays into the sexual realm, as an extension of warm, caring feelings.
