I should hope so.  Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic, but I'd think that if
you're close enough to make love occasionally, you'd have to be close
enough to tell the (potential) father.  Why would you have to be dishonest
at a point like this?

I'd like to think that if a couple does make love, they have JOINTLY
discussed the matter of birth control.  It doesn't have to be a deep, far-
reaching philosophical discussion, but you've got to know where you stand
far enough to deal with what can happen.  Dammit, that's the only adult way
to approach it.  Anyway, if a man isn't up front about it and doesn't deal
openly with the fact that sex can lead to pregnancy (and all the
implications that have to be answered somehow), then he just absolutely
isn't making love to you; he's screwing you!
