How about "Don't do that because it isn't socially acceptable BECAUSE...", followed by an explanation. Such laziness and game-playing in the practice of child-rearing is disgusting. Since when is the "easier" method for raising children the "preferred" one? (I know, since the beginning of time...) -- It doesn't matter what you wear, just as long as you are there.
