My dad got me interested in Track and Field when I was just a youngster, took me to a Cal vs USC dual meet back when USC fielded an entire team. I watched as many minutes of the trials as I could, lots of good performances but quite a few name athletes didnt make it. Mary Decker looked good - but I was amazed by the performances made by Ruth Wysocki/Caldwell, to bad we won't see the Russian women at the games for her to take a shot at. I don't know why most of the distance runners who made the team didn't seem excited, maybe they know the foriegn comp is going to be tough, I saw a clip of the new world record in the 10K, getting real close to 27 minutes flat! I think Henry Marsh has an excellent chance to take the Steeplechase if he can avoid tripping on a hurdle like he did in the World Championships. Comments?
