During the last 7 years he was with the Cubs, he was many times the only spark on the team. That's not putting down other former Cub players, it's just that he was quite a drawing card for the Cubs in those days. I didn't agree with his role this year as a pinch hitter and for his sake I'm glad to see him doing well in Boston. It was a very emotional departure from Chicago. I wish him well, he doesn't need luck, he's got talent. As far as Eckersly (sp?), the Cubs really needed another starter and has done an excellent job here. The problem has been that when he's been in, the Cub bats had holes in them. That will change though and when the bats start connecting again, Eckersly will be a large reason the Cubs make the playoffs.
