Isn't it amazing that suddenly, during the last week of voting,
that the people who deserve to start in the all-star game now 
have enough votes to do so?  All of a sudden Ryne Sandberg and
Dave Winfield are the top vote getters at their positions.
I think the whole thing is fixed.  If Steve Sax would have started
and not Sandberg, it would have showed just what a farce the 
all-star voting is.  It's unbelievable to me that all these votes
for the "right" people just start pouring in.  It seems that
in order for the commissioners office to not look like a laughing
stock, they adjust the votes accordingly to get the right players
in the starting lineup.  Of course, there are still exceptions
(like Carew and Garvey at first and Reggie Jackson in the OF),
but if ALL the best players were to make it, then everybody would
know that this thing is fixed.
