Scott Barman. a confessed Braves-hater, said that the fans here in Atlanta go
the games because it's "chic" as in LA...

Beg to differ Scott...try "FAIR-WEATHER" fans as a description, and then tell
me if you think the team deserves your hatred...  it seems that like anything
else, nobody wants you when you're down and out.  I've been a Yankee's fan for
years, well, as long as Reggie was there, and only paid attention to the Braves
when Bobby Cox took over the reins.  It's been the concensus among a lot of
folks I talk to that he and the late Bill Lucas (director of personnel I beleive
was his title) were the ones responsible for putting together the team that
Torre took over.  Cox'x success in Toronto seems to bear that out.  I do wish
they'd given him one more year...

Anyway, the fans are still supporting them now, even in the midst of the
terrible way they're playing right now...
