I think the thing to realize concerning the All Star game
is that it's not so much a competition as a showcase.  The 
players chosen don't represent so much the best in baseball
as the do the folks we (the fans) would most like to see play.
Personally, I'd have no objection to seeing Pete Rose start in
the outfield so I vote for him over a player that, on the 
basis of his performance this season might deserve the status
of "All Star".  It's a media event folks so why not just give in
and let the (network) stars play!
