My wife and I are going to England, Scotland, and Wales this fall.
Has anyone out there spent any time at B&B's? If so, 
 
   1) Did you make reservations?
   2) From the states or when you arrived?
   3) How?
   4) Are they reliable, clean, etc?
   5) Are there any in London?
   6) Do you have any favorites or know of any total losers?
   7) How about rental flats?
 
The travel books really don't help, so we're relying on your expert
advice. Thanks.
