He confronts Mickey about lying to Abe Carver about the shooting. Pete knows that Mickey lied to keep Pete out of jail. Pete explains to Mickey that it was an accident that he shot him. He said that Speed had just been shot and he just saw a shadow running toward him and he thought that the Warriors were coming to kill him, so he just picked up Speed's gun and started shooting at the shadow. He tells Mickey that he did not mean to hurt him and Mickey believes him. Pete pleads with Mickey to not separate he and Melissa. Mickey tells Pete that he is doing what he thinks is best for Melissa. Bo asks Eugene for a tracking device and miniature walkie-talkie disguised into a pair of wrist watches. Eugene is the master of invention and he comes up with a man's watch and a women's watch that are walkie-talkies and tracking devices built into the watches. It is able to track for a couple of miles and it is waterproof also. Eugene does not know that one of the watches is for Hope. He does not yet know about Bo and Hope getting back together and Bo does not want to involve him. Gwen and Larry discuss Maxwell Hathaway. Larry is jealous of the fact that Gwen is now Max's attorney and she will have to spend time with him. Gwen tells Larry that she wants to help Larry escape from under Maxwell's power and she has to find Max's weakness. Larry is grate- ful to Gwen for doing what she is doing for him. Eugene calls Gwen up and asks her out for a drink. She is in bed with Larry at the time and she declines Eugene's offer. Roman asks Abe about the case he is working on and Abe declines to discuss it. He has Bo working with him and an undercover female cop that is fronting as Abe's date. I think Lacy Parker, Abe's partner, will also be working on the case. Bo gives Hope her watch and she puts it on. Bo puts his on also. Bo tells Hope that if Larry should ask where she got the watch, to tell him her father sent it to her. Melissa and Mickey are talking in Mickey's hospital room. He tells her that Pete should be given a chance for a good life because he has had such a hard life as a boy. He tells Melissa that she can still not see Pete though, but that she will get over him and the pain someday and fall in love with a nice young man and forget all about Pete. Melissa tells her father that she understands that he is doing what he thinks is best for her, but that she will never forget Pete and she will love him always. Pete is on the docks thinking about all of the good times that he and Melissa had in the past. They start playing Willie Nelson's "I Bless the Day I Found You" (I don't know if that is the title of the song, but that is the chorus) and he flashes back to various close times he and Melissa shared. Melissa shows up. She tells Pete that is was her idea for her father to lie so that Pete would get out of jail and she promised her father she would never see Pete again. She apologizes to Pete for hurting him, but she tells him that she did it so he would have a chance at a decent life and he would never get that chance in prison. She tells him that she loves him and that she always will and then she touches his cheek and says goodbye. They are both crying at this point.* Hope is in the guest bedroom of her apartment and she is talking to Bo through the walkie-talkie. Larry starts banging on the door and Hope tells Bo that she has to go because Larry is banging on her door. Bo tells Hope to not let him in, but she is already signed- off the walkie-talkie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- * I tell you folks, this part got to me. The actors on this show are great! I realized that as soon as I started watching it again. They are very professional and a lot of the dialogue is so very convincing. I mean, it is not like they are "reading lines" so to speak. And they cry on cue great too. I find my eyes getting misty every time something sad happens and someone is crying. In my opinion, it is more like watching a good movie every day rather than your "stereotypical soap opera". I guess I am just a FAN! Marie Carey ...seismo!carey
