Berkeley Lines: 23 I am new to the video game, but plan to spend @$800 apiece on a good quality monitor and VCR. Can anyone help me with the following questions (replies to me, please, not the net)? -- I want a Beta Hi-Fi VCR with 2X speed with sound, and an MPX (stereo) audio out. Are there any on the market besides Sony (the 7210 has MPX, but 2X is silent)? -- I have seen a Toshiba deck with all desired features except MPX out. However, it does advertise itself as a stereo deck, and does have stereo audio plugs in and out. Is this adaptable for stereo TV somehow? -- My new Video Review gives a rave review to a monitor/receiver from a company called Proton: 400 lines resolution, 5MHz bandwidth, excellent transient response, color and overscan, blah blah blah. Does anyone know anything about this company in general and this Model 619 in particular? How does their stuff hold up? -- In general, can anyone suggest good equipment in this class? I'm planning to reward myself the day I file my thesis... Thanks in advance, Steve Upstill
