A few days ago I replied to an article about making MACSYMA
work for 4.2, saying it would be out this summer.  Symbolics called
me today and  said it *has been* released.   In  addition, they
said a temporary use of the source might be available for
porting it to System V or whatever, without the $200K fee.
(I haven''t pursued the details of this further, since it may be
too big a job for my current schedule.)
