View, CA Lines: 11 Anyone know of a good UNIX based work station for image processing under, say, $50K? If you're not familiar with image processing, the dominant computational bottle neck is passing vast quantities of data (multiple megabytes) through matrixes (up to 15 x 15). Since the data sets are large enough in some cases to have to live on disk, high speed block access to disk and perhaps contiguous disk files is also handy. Thanx in advance. P.S. Anyone used a Pyramid Technologies RISC based system out there? War stories and general impressions would be valued.
