I did not. First, I saw no reason to quote your entire article. Only that line in particular. Thats the one I wanted to comment on. So why force everyone to read the whole thing again? Second, we have all learned that intent is irrelevent in posted articles. Literal meaning is the allmighty god that we are guided by. I was pretty well shot down on that point when I disagreed. Anyway, I did leave out a couple of words in that sentence with regard to a nice dress. It was inappropritate to leave in because I agree that a nice dress looks good. Once again I only quoted that which I felt was neccessary. I do not see where the meaning got altered at all. Unless we have different definitions of good and bad. That I could understand. > Second, In my opinion, women wear makeup because they aren't > really sure of themselves -- they *think* their best features are their > looks and they want to enhance them as much as possible to "make up" for > their personality (hence the name). It is of my opinion that it is somewhat narrow minded to think that women wear makeup to hide their personality deficiencies. I do not see the correlation. > Then, what might happen is since the woman gets such good results with > just makeup and some nice clothes, she sees no need to further develop > her personality and it stagnates. That might be why you find it a > "turn-off". Well, I think makeup and personality are two independent traits. Some have one, some neither, some both. I just happen to find makeup unappealing. I guess I just like "natural" people. > Alright ladies, if I'm wrong (and it wouldn't be the first time), > why do you wear makeup? Just to look nice? Yes, I'd like to hear the why too. But I'd also like to say that to me personally, any makeup used more than sparingly does not look nice. It's good to know we won't be competing for the same women since you think makeup looks nice.
