Consortium meeting in San Francisco, Reed College was showing off their "GriffinTerminal" TEK4012 emulator. As part of the demo, it was hooked up to another of their products: the "microcontroller". The microcontroller was taking analog samples, A to D ing them, serializing them and sending them to the Mac for graphical display. A very nice job. They also offer a little development environment for the microcontroller that runs on the Mac. The same setup is used on campus to control lighting and heating, remotely from an Apple. Their GriffinTerminal manual lists a technical hotline number: (503) 232 1712. A Reed spin-off, "Metaresearch" distributes the products. Metaresearch, Inc. 1100 SE Woodward Portland, OR 97202 -------
