I have never been bothered with glare from an oncoming car's lights during the day. The lights increase the visibility opf the car drastically, and the sooner you know your surroundings while driving, the safer you'll be. I can't believe that one would say "you don't NEED to see a car that soon anyway..." (or something to that effect).
