Looking for owners experience of either of these two cars. I need a 
resonably smooth riding car and am considering the LTD/Merc. It seems
to have the better (average) frequency of repair record for 83 in 
consumers reports mag. My wife has neck problems that are not about to
go away and cannot take a car that provides to stiff a ride (most
compacts and sub-compacts seem to fall into this catagory).
