The article seemed to indicate that there were convertible Z/28's made during the 1st generation of Camaro, from 1967 through 1969. The reasoning back then for not making the cars converitbles was that the main reason they were built was for Trans-AM racing (with modifications, of course), and convertibles just didn't cut it from a stability (less body ridgidity) and safety viewpoint. Why Chevrolet has not decided to make convertible Z/28's (or Camaros/Berlinettas) with the current crop ('81 through present) I do not know. I've seen converible conversions for these cars, and they are pretty sharp. The look a little "tacked-on", but that's probably because they were conversions. A real factory job would probably fit a lot better.
