Lines: 27 I am hoping to buy a new car for under 9 to 10K and I've narrowed it down to a) Chevy Cavalier b) Honda Civic c) Toyota Corolla Basic features are 4 door sedan, A.C., 5 speed manual. I realize that I can look up in Consumer Reports for a lot of facts, but I'd sure like some personal insight as well. Things I'm looking for: Roominess inside (as much as can be expected from a compact car) Reliable and energetic engine Reasonable price Good performance (mail responses to me) By the way, to that person who bought the '85 Camry. Assuming that you just got a good deal on your trade-in, did you get the car for the retail price or higher? I've heard from other people who looked at Camry's that dealers were slapping on some sort of extra import charge.
