BMW tried to buy the cars back from the insurance company but was unsuccessful. They wanted to have the cars destroyed. [seems like overkill to me, but then I suppose that's cheaper than repairing them properly] At any rate, these flood-damaged cars are on the market and being sold as 'new' cars. BMW NA has cancelled the warrantee on these cars. If you or someone you know is buying a new Bimmer, call BMW NA and check to see if the serial number matches one of these cars. If you know that it's flood-damaged and that there is no warrantee and you still want to buy it, fine, but they are being passed off as undamaged new cars. There are two or three dozen of these, and there are some of each model. lets hear it for insurance companies! -- _____ /_____\ 9 out of 10 dentists recommend oral sex /_______\ |___| Snoopy ____|___|_____ ihnp4!ihuxl!seifert (must be true, I saw it on the tee-shirt of a dentist!)
