Early this year when I was poking my head into this newsgroup and asking a lot of questions as a beginner would, I got lots of recommendations to take the MSF Beginning Biker course. I was very impressed by the enthusiasm expressed here for the course so I checked it out. All I can say is that they were right, and I would make the same enthusiastic recommendation. Motorcycle riding is more than just hopping on the saddle and riding off. It cost me $70 (as of March 84; they warned me it was going up so I don't know what it is now). I was also required to by a helmet (full face or 3/4) and riding boots (something to cover the ankles). As someone here said, the course is priceless, but I do think $225 is a bit high. -- Gordon A.
