Process bug in emacs Message-ID: <35@unc.UUCP> Date: Sat, 1-Sep-84 18:19:33 EDT Article-I.D.: unc.35 Posted: Sat Sep 1 18:19:33 1984 Date-Received: Thu, 13-Sep-84 03:39:42 EDT Organization: CS Dept., U. of N. Carolina at Chapel Hill Lines: 11 We run (gosling) emacs under 4.2 and there is an elusive process bug that I would like desparately to track down. The symptom is that (sometimes) emacs hangs while consuming cpu cycles, always after starting up an emacs process, and usually when the system load is high. My guess is that emacs is waiting for the process to terminate, and somehow missed the signal that made the process be done. If anyone else has experienced this problem, or can give me a fix (even a hack -- I'm desparate), I'd appreciate it. thanks in advance, Tim Rentsch
