Process bug in emacs Message-ID: <8197@umcp-cs.UUCP> Date: Sun, 2-Sep-84 23:48:13 EDT Article-I.D.: umcp-cs.8197 Posted: Sun Sep 2 23:48:13 1984 Date-Received: Thu, 13-Sep-84 05:06:22 EDT References: <35@unc.UUCP> Organization: U of Maryland, Computer Science Dept., College Park, MD Lines: 12 I haven't seen that one, but I have seen one that looks somewhat similar from the outside: Emacs appears to hang, then eventually starts a subshell. This one can be repeated by typing ahead while generating an error; one way might be to hold down ')' in electric-C mode. The fix for this particular bug is extremely simple: just remove a piece of code in fill_chan that says ``if (err) return;'' (with a comment near it about ^G interrupts). I don't know if this adversely affects HalfBaked mode though. -- In-Real-Life: Chris Torek, Univ of MD Comp Sci (301) 454-7690 UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!chris CSNet: chris@umcp-cs ARPA: chris@maryland
