Well, I can do better than that.   If the debt service was eliminated,
<I'm not suggesting it, I want to see the economy survive>  there
would be an insignificant deficit left in the budget that could be handled
by across-the-board cuts, or cuts for the DOD in areas where they are
really wasting stuff.  <Parts procurment, multiple weapons systems that
don't work, etc>  (The last credible numbers I've seen put the
cost of debt service at about 95% of the deficit, and growing.)

I know it's fun to wave the deficit in front of the actor from DC, because he
thought he could do something, but it's not his fault.  There IS
no solution until either the federal banking system or the economy
collapses, since the cost of DEBT service alone will continue to 
unbalance the budget AND grow each year to a greater portion of
the budget.  It might not be good economics, but it sure as
heck is good mathmatics.  (The only "non-catastrophic" method
of fixing things is to cut back 40% on the cost of government until
all those bonds and loans expire.  That one isn't politically
feasible, since it will  require the cutting back of HUD, HHS,
Social Security, etc.  That sort of cutback will actually
KILL people.  I don't call that "non-catastrophic."  I don't
HAVE a solution, either!  Serious proposals will be considered,
if from an EFFECTIVE source, and of an effective and non-disruptive
manner.)


If you want to complain about Reagan, why don't you worry about the
fact that he will get to appoint three or four REACTIONARY
(And I don't mean "conservative") Supreme Court Judges?
We'll be back to enforced school prayer, illegal abortion,
illegal BIRTH CONTROL, and the subservience of all females.
Isn't THAT a problem!!!!!!!?  Why don't you complain about the
asinine comments at the world population control meeting,
where the USA suggested celebacy, and refused to aid in
birth control programs?  COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING
IMPORTANT (AND AWFUL) THAT REAGAN CAN AND MAY DO!

WORRY ABOUT SOMETHING IMPORTANT, LIKE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE
ECONOMY IF MONDALE IS ELECTED.   (Look at his stance on 
NASA, milk subsidies, and technology!)

Ecch!  Thank you, FDR!  You knew you'd be dead when it all
broke down.
