I will quote my Grandfather, who could be the prototype of the
"Fighting Irish"

"All the smart ones left.  All the dumb ones are still fighting.
And all of the really dumb ones want to keep fighting."

He used to say this to violently anti-whatever it was at the time.
He used to get into FIGHTS with people in bars over this.  Having
seen pictures of my Grandfather at the time,  his oppenents were
clearly men of bad judgement and weak perceptions.

I think that anybody who supports the "Irish Cause" better get ready
for people to support the "United Empire Loyalists" cause in the U.S.A.
I really would like to see the White House torched again...  Make great
press.
