Do you know Russian well enough to say that?  I don't, but have talked to a
native speaker who confirms that a usage like "We will bury you" does NOT
mean "We will destroy you", but rather "Time will pass and prove you wrong--
you try it your way and I'll try it mine, and you'll see that I'm right."
I read an article about American misunderstanding of the translation of
Khrushchev's speech which not only explained the idiom, but also pointed out
that his tone of voice was not at all appropriate for a "We will destroy you"
interpretation anyway.
