SOFTWARE ENGINEER III  (multi-level position)

Unix Support Specialist. Provides general Unix support and 
consultation for the Communications Network Analyzers (CNA) 
Division of Tektronix, Inc.

Must maintain existing software, write and/or install new software 
and software packages including applications programs and device
drivers.  Provide user assistance and/or training as required.

This position requires a BSCS or BSEE with a minimum of one year
experience. Must be fluent in C.  Thorough knowledge of Unix internals 
and tools.  Knowledge of Berkeley Unix (2.9, 4.1, 4.2) and experience
with PDP-11s is a plus.  Must be able to communicate well and work
with users to determine requirements and to answer questions as
needed.

The CNA Division of Tektronix is located in Redmond, Oregon, appx.
the center of the state.  Redmond is High Desert country, east of
the Cascade Mountains. Central Oregon is well known for its great
outdoor life, including: whitewater rafting, fishing, hunting, water 
skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, winter sports (skiing, snow-
mobiling, 40 miles from Mt. Bachelor), swimming, rock collecting,
spelunking, etc.).  The beautiful Cascade Mountains are a short 20
miles west and in view of the office.
