The Vadic 4400 series (AKA Quadmodem, not to be confused with any Quadram
products) DOES NOT use a propietary protocol.  They use V.22 bis like
everyone else.  The per-card price may have been reduced, as glascal
has them for $1425.

They also list a Kinex V.26 TER modem which is to have slightly
superior performance on "marginal" lines. ($1695)
