It is probably what you need since its sole purpose is to identify baudot or ascii terminals and translate appropriately. The modem will not be bound to the TRS (so there's no need to specd $7k) although right now I am making it specific to UNIX systems (i.e., UNIX control characters will be possible through special escape sequences from a baudot terminal). It is not yet commercially available although you could get help in obtaining one through the DEAFNET project (at SRI). You can contact me directly for more specific information and specs.
