Otherwise, aside from a different color case, the 1542 is supposed to be identical to the 1541. When asked whether the save-and-replace bug had been fixed, a Commodore engineer simply shrugged. Another drive, I think the name is SFS 481, is supposed to run almost five times as fast as the 1541, but it will work only on the new Plus/4 computer.
