If you watched closely, you could infer some reasons. The film explained very clearly that Darryl was captured when he went into town to see his father - he betrayed his friends rather than suffer himself. He could've told them he had been bugged. He didn't. He was executed. Marighella would have approved totally. I can't have much confidence in a review made by someone who didn't pay attention.
