How about Phil Keaggy?
The story goes that many years ago someone asked Jimi Hendrix how
it felt to be the greatest guitarist in the world, and he said
"I don't know; ask Phil Keaggy".
Unfortunately, he records for an evangelical Christian label (Sparrow,
I think) and he is almost invariably produced into mush and given
very little room to stretch;  but I've heard him in concert and
he's frightfully good.
