This puzzle was originally given to me by my brother in law
when he was a high school student.  His teacher gave it to 
him as extra credit.

You are given a dozen golf balls and told that one of them is
a different weight than the others.  In 3 weighings on a 
balance scale, determine which ball is different, and if it is
heavy or light.


I will post an answer in 2 weeks.
