The combination of greatly superior optics and the use of dichroic mirrors for heat control lead to a projector that is 1) Much sharper 2) Much easier on slides, as far as heat 3) Much brighter, while maintaining 2) I think that it's unfair to compare the price of the Leitz with anything other than the highest models of Kodak, because the physical construction, features, and optics are all superior.
