He's kind of narrowed it down to either a powermatic 66 w/Biesemeyer or a rockwell unisaw w/Biesemeyer. First, he thinks that these saws would have much higher resale value than a contractors type saw, not that he plans to sell it, and they are certainly made better than contractors saws. He wants a 3 hp motor, which contractor saws don't usually have. 220v/single phase is the target. Canadian tool houses have a version of the unisaw that sells for much less than in the US (actually its supposedly the same saw with a different kind of power on mechanism). Is this a good deal? Right now, he's leaning toward the powermatic because it comes with the Biesemeyer. Any opinions out there? What about other saws in this catagory (~$2000)? thanks in advance Kevin Ow-Wing @ AMDCAD (408) 749-2354 UUCPnet: {ihnp4,amd,gatech,resonex}!amdcad!kevin US MAIL: 901 Thompson Pl.
