Laziness was my main disincentive. The electric razor hurts and the manual takes soo long; well, as long as brushing my teeth. (No, not the electric razor manual { :<{)}} ) But now that I am shaving (two months) I like the effect. People say "It's nice to see you" and mean it in a different way. I do look nice without the facial fur and I've dropped my nervous habits of playing with my beard (pulling out hairs and such) and wiping food and drink from my mustache. Now it feels nice to rub my wiskers. I also like the shock effect of people not recognizing me ("It was those atom bomb tests - finally caught up with me.") But that has worn off by now. Ever notice how wearing a beard is like wearing makeup, or cloths for that matter? They all cover up the REAL you, whatever that is.
