Aren't they projections of your own confused feelings? If you come into a relationship with nothing, saying, "I'm empty, fill me," you aren't a lover, you're just a beggar. Who wants to be with a beggar? The bad news is that no woman will ever be what you need. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. The good news is that, once you stop being so needy, you may find a woman who's very good at being what she is. It may not be what you (thought you) needed or wanted, but that doesn't make it any less special. -- Alan S. Driscoll AT&T Bell Laboratories
