I think the whole discussion started with this question and not whether makeup is good or not. I always thought it was fairly obvious that "women have to worry about looking pretty and men don't". You don't usually find men worrying about minimizing the bad features and bringing out the good features on their faces, at least not enough to necessitate the use of makeup. My own view? I would *never* want to wear makeup (man or woman). Therefore I couldn't expect her (my SO) to wear makeup.
