Chicago: Astronomy & Astrophysics Lines: 19 ***** Two thoughts on this subject: a) make-up is part of a whole contradictory culturization process most women go through -- you are too female (and must shave various parts of your bodily hair, bathe several times a day, etc.) AND you are not female enough (and must artificially enhance your "feminine" features through the use of cosmetics, padded bras, etc.) b) the cosmetics business makes billions of dollars in profit; the sector that traffics in make-up has built an extremely profitable product line based in part on exploiting the insecurity and vanity of certain women (and men -- Marshall Fields now has a Clinque salon in the middle of it's mens store) Trisha O Tuama
