Rock music if you like, but please don't condemn drink as self-destructive.
For people who suffer from high muscle tension (i.e., are screwed up), it's
a great relaxant and anesthetic.  I cannot blame somebody who's in pain for
trying to relieve it.

As the transactional analysts pointed out years ago, problem drinking is
always part of a broader and more complex pattern of life.  This is why
therapy is recommended for spouses and children of drunkards:  they
usually are contributing to the drunkards' drinking patterns.
