If you need something to be sensitive about, calling a female a "girl" is condescending, but I sort of think that that's over-reacting a little, don't you? I certainly don't mind being called a boy. I would seriously like to maintain a "boyish" attitude until the day I die. And in any case, it isn't an insult unless I insist on perceiving it as one. I happen to like calling females "girls" because I think "broad" is insulting, and a "woman" is what my mother is.... In fact, I sort of like the words "guy" and "girl" when referring to generic members of each sex. In any case, aren't there enough insults in the world without you getting upset about calling a girl a "girl"? Sheesh. By the way, I'm 27, so I hardly think I qualify as a "boy" because of my age, nor do I think I'm old enough to be calling myself a "boy" because I'm getting old.
