Well, then, :-), I happen to like calling males "boys" because I think "prick" is insulting, and a "man" is hardly a proper term for someone who persists in referring to individuals by terms they don't like. Sheesh, Roy, if you'd been around net.singles for awhile, you might have noticed that the other times this topic gets brought up, many women write in and say they don't like being called girls. If people don't like it, they don't like it, and not amount of declaring how much you like it is going to make any body who disagrees with you feel nice. > By the way, I'm 27, so I hardly think I qualify as a "boy" because of > my age, nor do I think I'm old enough to be calling myself a "boy" > because I'm getting old. Well, I'm a bit older than you (and gee, come to think of it, I've always been older than you...wow, like cosmic :-). Since you've qualified to be a "man", when do females qualify to be "women": when they're your mother? Or when they're just mothers? Then, does this mean you're a father? We in net.singles could start referring to males as boys, but this might either be interpreted as open war (or The Hurling of Insults Between the Sexes), or as gaggingly cute.
