It was the first time I had been able to see Prince close up and in color. It's obvious he wears eyeliner, mascara, and occationally I noticed during the film he was wearing (you guessed it!) *purple* eyeshadow. Now, I was already positive he wore the eyeliner when I went to see the movie, however, the rest was pretty subtle. The eyeliner has a dramatic effect that can't be ignored, while the rest, you have to be looking out for. *I* thought it looked good, and didn't feel it made him effeminate. It was there to bring one's attention to the eyes (the same reason women wear it). I *know* everybody's saying he is gay, I don't know how the rumor started or if I believe it, but he's not gay because he wears makeup. So chalk up another one for saying guys wearing makeup is okay (under the rules of common sense, as with the ladies). (for those interested, I've reviewed the film in net.movies) -- kitten~ {ucbvax!unisoft | scgvaxd | trwrb | felix}!pertec!kitten
