I was poking around on mit-eddie and found this hadn't been archived yet.

Well they sure did.  And now, it's the eve of the (possibly) final
showdown between these two clubs.  The future of the race depends on
what the Mets do this weekend.

Yeah, and for a while, they were playing even worse than your Giants.
Season series:  Mets 4, Giants 8.  Giants won 8 one-run ballgames I
think.

Well, I can't reallly see Minnesota in there, and as for San Diego, you
have to admit the Mets handled them pretty well last weekend.  Padres,
you're in for a time if you play the Cubs (or Mets, for that matter).
