A recent focus has been on the study of cellular automata. The primary computers currently used in the group are four Sun Workstations and a Ridge. A wide range of projects is anticipated, including graphics, image processing, special- purpose hardware interfacing and possible programming language development. Experience with C and UNIX systems programming is required. Familiarity with modern workstation hardware and peripherals is desirable. Some research experi- ence is preferred.
